This is an estimate, not a quotation. Treat these numbers as a starting point for the conversation. What you actually generate depends on which way your roof faces, whether anything shades it during the day, your location and weather through the year, the components used, your DISCOM tariff and how much electricity you really use. We only put a firm number in writing after seeing the roof.
Solar Solutions

Not every roof needs the same system

A house uses power in the evening. A showroom uses it all day. A farm pump runs in bursts. Those are different problems, so we size them differently.

Residential Rooftop Solar

Independent houses, villas and apartment owners

A system sized to what your house actually uses, so your monthly bill comes down and stays down as tariffs rise.

  • Reduces the units you buy from the grid every month
  • Long asset life with low running cost
  • Eligible for consideration under government rooftop solar schemes, subject to prevailing guidelines

Commercial Solar EPC

Shops, showrooms, offices, hospitals, schools and commercial buildings

Commercial tariffs are higher than domestic ones, so every unit your roof generates replaces a costlier unit from the grid. That is why the numbers often work better for a shop or office than for a house.

  • Offsets daytime consumption, which is when most commercial loads run
  • Predictable long-term energy cost compared with rising tariffs
  • Uses existing roof space that is otherwise unproductive

Industrial Solar Solutions

Factories, processing units, workshops and industrial sheds

Factory sheds usually have large, uninterrupted roofs and a steady daytime load, close to the ideal case for solar. The roof is already there and doing nothing.

  • Large shadow-free roof area is used productively
  • Daytime generation aligns well with industrial shift operations
  • Structured design accounting for load, protection and safety requirements

Agricultural Solar Solutions

Farms, agricultural pump sets and rural establishments

Sized to the pump, not to a monthly bill. We work from the pump rating, how much water you need and how many hours a day it has to run.

  • Reduces dependence on grid supply timing for daytime operations
  • Designed around actual pump load and duty cycle
  • Suitable for locations with adequate open, shadow-free area

System Size Guide

What does each system size actually run?

A rough reference before you use the calculator. These figures assume typical Telangana conditions and an unshaded terrace. Your own numbers will shift with orientation, shading and the components used.

Indicative rooftop solar system sizes and coverage
SizeTypically suitsIndicative generationIndicative area
1 kWA small home with light usage: fans, lights, TV and a fridge.~4 units/day~90 sq ft
2 kWA small to mid-size home, typically with one air conditioner used sparingly.~8 units/day~180 sq ft
3 kWThe most common residential size, a typical family home with regular AC use.~13 units/day~270 sq ft
5 kWA larger home with multiple air conditioners, or a small shop or office.~21 units/day~450 sq ft
10 kWA large residence, small commercial establishment, school or clinic.~42 units/day~900 sq ft
25 kW+Commercial and industrial premises with substantial daytime load.~105 units/day and above~2,250 sq ft and above
All figures above are indicative and assume an unshaded roof with reasonable orientation. Generation varies by season, location, module specification, soiling and system condition. Area requirements change significantly with elevated structures or higher-efficiency modules.

System Types

On-grid, hybrid or off-grid?

It comes down to what the site needs. Battery storage is not a system type of its own: it is the component that lets a hybrid or off-grid system keep running when the grid cannot.

On-Grid Solar

Customers whose main goal is reducing the monthly electricity bill.

The system works alongside your grid connection. Solar powers your loads during the day, and anything extra can be exported to the grid where net metering is available. There is no battery, so the system does not run during a grid outage.

  • Lowest cost per kW of the three options
  • No backup during a power cut, because the inverter must shut down for safety
  • Requires DISCOM approval and a suitable meter for export

How Solar Works

From sunlight to your switchboard

Rooftop solar is a straightforward chain. Understanding it helps you judge whether a proposal you receive is complete, particularly the protection stages, which are the easiest to leave out.

  1. 01

    Sunlight

Irradiance falls on the module surface through the day.

  2. 02

    Solar Panels

Modules convert sunlight into DC electricity.

  3. 03

    DC Protection

DC isolators, fuses and surge protection on the array side.

  4. 04

    Solar Inverter

Converts DC into grid-quality AC and tracks maximum power.

  5. 05

    AC Protection

AC breakers, RCD and earthing before the distribution board.

  6. 06

    Home / Business Loads

Your appliances and equipment run on solar first.

  7. 07

    Grid or Battery

Surplus is exported to the grid, or stored if you have a battery.

In an on-grid system there is no battery, and the inverter shuts down during a grid outage for line-worker safety. A hybrid system keeps your backed-up circuits running from the battery instead.

Kapizo Plans

Three ways to go solar with us

The three plans differ in the panels, the inverter, the protection and whether you get battery backup, not just in price. We do not publish a price per kW, because the real cost depends on your roof, and a number that fits one terrace misleads on another.

The Kapizo EPC Process

What actually happens, step by step

Every project runs the same way, so you always know what comes next and what we need from you.

  1. 1

    Requirement Discussion

We start with a conversation about your property, your electricity usage and what you want solar to achieve: bill reduction, backup, or both.

  2. 2

    Electricity Bill Analysis

Your recent bills tell us your actual consumption pattern, tariff category and sanctioned load. This is the foundation for correct sizing.

  3. 3

    Site Assessment

We assess usable roof area, orientation, shadow patterns through the day, structural suitability and the route for cabling and earthing.

  4. 4

    System Design & Proposal

You receive a system design with capacity, component selection, protection scheme, expected generation range and a clear commercial proposal.

  5. 5

    Installation & Commissioning

Mounting structure, modules, inverter, DC and AC protection, earthing and cabling are installed and tested before the system is commissioned.

  6. 6

    Documentation & Support

We assist with net metering paperwork and applicable scheme documentation, and remain available for after-sales support and maintenance guidance.

Timelines for DISCOM approvals, inspection and meter installation are determined by the distribution company, so we do not promise guaranteed approval dates.

Why Kapizo Solar

Components

Quality Components. Smart Procurement.

We are not tied to one brand, and we would not serve you well if we were. What goes on your roof depends on the system size, your budget, what is genuinely available at the time, the warranty terms and what suits the site.

Solar Modules

The panels that convert sunlight into DC electricity.

How we select: Selected on efficiency, technology, warranty terms and suitability for your available roof area.

Inverters

Converts DC from the panels into AC usable by your loads and the grid.

How we select: Selected on system type (on-grid or hybrid), capacity matching, MPPT design and monitoring capability.

Mounting Structures

The structure that holds modules at the correct tilt and orientation.

How we select: Selected on roof type, wind loading, corrosion resistance and required tilt for your location.

Cables

DC and AC cabling connecting modules, inverter and your distribution board.

How we select: Sized for current-carrying capacity and voltage drop, with UV-rated cable used on exposed DC runs.

Protection Equipment

DC and AC protection devices, surge protection and earthing.

How we select: Specified so that both the DC and AC sides are protected and the system is safe to isolate for maintenance.

Energy Storage

Batteries used in hybrid and off-grid systems.

How we select: Selected on chemistry, usable capacity, cycle life and the specific loads you want backed up.

Monitoring

Lets you see generation and system status.

How we select: Depends on the inverter platform and whether you want per-string or system-level visibility.

The specific make and model proposed for your project is confirmed in your written proposal after site assessment, based on what is genuinely available and appropriate at that time.

FAQs

Questions customers actually ask

Straight answers, including the parts most sellers skip over.

Roughly 80 to 100 sq ft of shadow-free terrace per kW. So a 3 kW system needs about 250 to 300 sq ft, a little under a third of a typical 1,000 sq ft terrace. The exact figure depends on module wattage and efficiency, the tilt and orientation of the structure, and the spacing needed to avoid row-to-row shading. Elevated structures over an existing roof slab can change the usable area considerably, so the number is confirmed during site assessment.
